About Us

Hey, I’m Chris — founder of Deckly, full-time card flipper, former pro trumpet player, and 36-year-old collector of stories, stats, and slabs.
I was born in the 1980s, adopted at age 3, and told we were “moving to Disneyland.” We ended up in Bakersfield, CA — which was not Disneyland, but it was where I fell in love with trading cards, old computers, and pretending my Sound Blaster card made me a hacker.
I got my start on an MS-DOS computer, eventually graduating to Windows 95, dial-up internet, and Pokémon League battles every weekend at Toys“R”Us. Meanwhile, my dad was taking me to White Sox, Dodgers, and Angels games, which cemented my love for baseball — and baseball cards. I’ve been flipping on eBay since 2005.
I earned a full-ride Smittcamp Family Honors College Scholarship — one of the most competitive awards in California’s Central Valley — which covered all four years of tuition, housing, and board at Fresno State. I later toured professionally as a trumpet player, before pivoting into tech and leading product work across California, Oregon, and New York.
Over the years, I’ve launched parental control platforms used by families around the world, partnering with major brands like T-Mobile and Sky to help millions of households stay safe online. I’ve also led teams at Spotify, Zwift, and other tech companies — and picked up a few peer-nominated awards along the way for impact and execution.
In 2020, I got back into Pokémon for fun. In 2024, I sold my first graded slab. And now? I run Deckly — a place where collecting meets culture, and where old-school cardboard and cutting-edge tech live in the same binder.
Whether you're into PSA 10s, TAG submissions, or tokenized collectibles, you're in the right place.
Welcome On Deck. Let’s pull something legendary.
