How Deckly Balances AI and Human Creativity – As Quoted in The Washington Post

🧠✨ A Reflection on My Quote in The Washington Post
Earlier this week, The Washington Post published an article exploring how companies are navigating the line between artificial intelligence and human creativity. I was honored to be included in that conversation.
In the piece, I shared my perspective on when it makes sense to lean into AI — and when it’s non-negotiable to keep a human in the loop.
At Deckly, we do use AI. We use it to automate product listings, brainstorm card captions, and even help design memes. But AI doesn’t replace creativity, community, or care — it just helps us amplify them. Every pack we list, every grade we post, and every message we send still reflects a human decision. Usually mine, often fueled by coffee.
There’s a temptation to hand everything off to machines. But I believe customers can tell when something’s made with intention. That’s what we’re building at Deckly: not just a card shop, but a space where human expression still wins.
